Suzanne Bergeron is the Helen Graves Emerita Professor of Social Sciences and Women's Studies at the University of Michigan Dearborn. Her work has examined the discourses of gender and care that circulate within academic and global policy circles, including her book Fragments of Development and articles in Signs, International Feminist Journal of Politics, Globalizations and more. Her more recent scholarly and activist work is focused on integrating the diverse economies perspective with Black feminist thought to create space for acknowledging and supporting the cooperative care activities of racially marginalized women. She has given long service to the editorial boards of The International Feminist Journal of Politics and Rethinking Marxism, is on the Advisory board of the DISE (Diverse Social Economies) Collective, is a longtime collaborator with various United Nations Social and Solidarity Economies initiatives, and is the co-author, with Drucilla K. Barker and Susan Feiner, of Liberating Economics: Feminist Perspectives on Families, Work, and Globalization.
