Composting Theory · Ecological Care in Practice
Jennifer Nash, Jocelyn Olcott, Saskia Cornes, Tania Rispoli
26 August 2025A hands-on workshop series in collaboration with the Duke Campus Farm, “Composting Theory” explores ecological care through feminist and posthumanist readings, soil practices, and collective reflection. Sessions take place on select Saturday mornings—October 25 and November 15—at the Farm.
Each session combines a short, shared reading (≈25 pp.), or hands-on ecological practice, or a group practice. These workshops are designed primarily for faculty and graduate students. Advanced undergraduates interested in participating should email saskia.cornes@duke.edu.
Sessions run on Saturdays, 10:00–12:00 pm, at the Duke Campus Farm and begin with a light breakfast.
In the spirit of care, we are exploring options for childcare during these events. Please RSVP if you would like to bring younger family members.
