Call for Papers (Rolling): Care in Common
Care in Common is accepting submissions on a rolling basis! Whether you have a finished piece or a work in progress, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome scholarly articles, practitioner and activist writing, and creative work in English, Spanish, and Portuguese — on any aspect of care in its social, cultural, and ecological dimensions.
Submit to Care in Common
Care in Common is now accepting submissions on a rolling basis!
We welcome three kinds of work:
- Refereed Articles — original scholarly research, theoretical contributions, and methodological interventions across disciplines (8,000–10,000 words)
- Writings from Practitioners and Activists — essays, campaign accounts, organizational histories, collective statements, or interviews from those working at the frontlines of care (1,500–5,000 words)
- Creative Materials — poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, visual art, photography, and experimental forms that engage care as their subject
Submitted articles are first reviewed by our editorial collective for quality and fit before being sent out for double-blind peer review. Not all submissions will advance to this stage.
All published work is freely available immediately upon publication, with no subscription fees or article-processing charges.
We publish work in the language it is submitted, and upon acceptance, we’ll provide an AI-assisted translation of your work. It is then up to you as the author to assess the quality of the translation and, if needed, find someone to review and improve it before publication.
We especially welcome work from scholars, practitioners, and artists in the Global South, and submissions that cross disciplinary, geographic, and sectoral lines.
