The Book Underway

11 October 2018My forthcoming book on how an analysis of care work complements intersectional political economy
Here is my excuse for a long hiatus in my posts: a return to the venerable genre of monograph (a.k.a. “book”) in order to explain to patient readers how an analysis of care work complements intersectional political economy (and vice versa).
Check out this Oxfam post for some of the political gist.
Forthcoming from Verso in 2018.

Welcome back to the Care Blog and thank you, Nancy, for this intriguing post. Once upon a time, I thought the term “patriarchy” was outmoded–too embedded with static assumptions about the universality of a specific form of male domination that neglected intersectionality. The recent return of the term “patriarchy” into our discourse has given me pause (even as it touched a cord inside me). So I see real value in pluralizing the term, as you seem to be doing–in examining multiple forms of both patriarchies and capitalisms. I look forward to reading more.
